i wish an orchestra & someone with a boombox would follow me around so that my life would continuously be accompanied by a soundtrack.

music

new discoveries [not necessarily NEW new. more like, new to me...]

* Joy Williams: One of Those Days EP [just got it off itunes!]

* Tamarama: "Dusty Road" [apparently this is Jay's band. Jay, the australian guy from The City. yes, i do watch The City. it's my guilty pleasure]

* Asa [i will never be able to sing like her. heck, no one can. i love her voice. her music sounds like bob marley, corinne bailey rae, and ceu rolled into one]

* Hoobastank: "So Close So Far" [i didn't even realized they had released a new album until i saw it on the itunes store. the album is alright. there's a few good songs, and So Close So Far is my favorite. i believe this is the single they have out right now. but yea, i still like the self titled album the best. The Reason was pretty good too. but i liked EVERY single song in the first album. man, good times, good times =)

* Safetysuit: Life Left to Go [...is a great album. i like the lead singer's voice. and i like their music. it's very full, rich, in your face, melodic... rock. i suck at describing music, haha. i don't know if they're gonna be as big as, hmmm, Fall Out Boy or say Panic at the Disco. oh well. it seems as if the music is much better when the band is on the DL. haha.

allergic to magic...

i love her big eyes and her creative imagination... and the fact that she's speaking in french. okay, i mean, french people do speak in french [duh], but it's so adorable when a cute little kid is the one doing it. hahaha.

All the things my feet thought to be firm
Are falling with urgency
And tearing back my false sense of security

You have been more faithful than the morning sun
You have been more faithful than knowing night will come
You have been more faithful than the changing of seasons

twilight and the gorge

one of the cool things about watching twilight was seeing familiar locations [to us oregonians], like the columbia gorge, multnomah falls, oh and the woods! there's just something about the woods up here in the northwest. they're different from forests in other parts of the country. i can tell the difference. hahaha. for example, the "woods" in the decode video by paramore - not a northwest forest! it's probably a fake one, you know, somewhere in LA. haha.

i was randomly browsing through my flickr and came upon this image:
columbia river gorge

and i thought, it looks a lot like the first bit of the twilight trailer:

well, it's not shot from the exact same spot. they probably shot the movie from the washington side, facing the oregon side, and much further down [eastward]. i shot the picture from the oregon side, at the Portland Women's Forum State Park viewpoint [the one stop right before the vista house]. i thought it still had some similarities. i should just make the picture a little gloomier, maybe add some ominous dark clouds, and flip it. hahaha.

How can I decide what's right
When you're clouding up my mind?

photos REmixed

it's been a while since i've taken pictures. i do miss doing it but i really haven't had the chance to do that as of late. since i don't have any "new" pictures to post, i figured i post old pictures... REMIXED. i can't think of a cleverER (yes i just made up a word) term for it. i found this nifty website: http://labs.wanokoto.jp/olds and had a little too much fun feeding some of my pictures through the generator. check out the site, and try it too =]

the last picture was actually once featured on the schmap.com website. i don't think it's on there anymore [yes i checked]. i made sure i had screen captures for proof - that my picture was once part of a website that wasn't mine. haha.

it's only tuesday?!

i'm exhausted. they're piling on the work on us. they keep 'em coming. they won't stop. make them stop!

clay aiken is gay. it's only tuesday. it makes me wonder how people can half-ass things and still get rewarded for it. i'm a push over. christmas is too far away. the air is crisp and the leaves are crunchy. i really miss 'academia'. the new season of office starts this week! yay pam & jim <3

and... apparently i like to collect sprite cans at work.

framed

i decided to experiment and get some of my photos enlarged and framed. big ups to costco and ikea. here's one:

wanna buy it =D haha.

thom yorke

you are such a strange little man! but you make awesome music. oh radiohead, you put me to sleep last night on the couch. not in a bad way, but more like... lulling me to sleep. haha. i wouldn't have fallen asleep if i wasn't so tired. but it was a good end to the day, after rawking out to kutless.

the ones who seem strange and peculiar to regular folk seem to produce genius work - whether it be music or any other trade. i think the key is to let go of inhibition.

i refuse to be regular folk.

i think i wanna be crazy.

if i am crazy, then, i am a genius.

HAHA. does that logic make any sense? i don't know i haven't checked my truth tables lately.

i'm gonna shut up now =]

frustrating

i have to edit a bunch of wedding pictures... and i just can't seem to do it.

i feel so un-creative. so... uninspired. blah.

i feel blah.

blah.

bloop.

list list list

+ i really really want to see the Phantom of the Opera =[ my only consolation is that Gerard Butler isn't THE Phantom, which means it probably won't be as good. [ha, yes, i am lying to myself]. i guess i can always pop-in the dvd. but i still want to see it on stage. that would be amazing. 10x more amazing if gerard butler would always be the Phantom. and i'd be christine. and i'd definitely pick him over raoul.

+ i wish i could use the other side of my brain more. it feels neglected.

+ i got to go jetskiing last saturday which was fun. i think the day wouldn't have been complete without yours truly making a goof of myself. it just had to happen. so naturally i would have to be on a jetski that would flip over (at 2mph). the lake was nice and warm thank goodness. haha.

+ what's up with the weather?! it's like, fall all of a sudden.

+ i need to get better with budgeting. i need to stop spending money. i need to stay away from powell's.

+ i'm happy that Twilight [the movie] will be coming out earlier. November instead of December.

i want...

this vertical sapien bookshelf.

i've stacked up my books to emulate the look. it works, but it would be nice to have the actual shelf. and i've only knocked the stack over once! hahaha. why can't ikea have a knock-off version?!

collection

i have the quotes widget on my iGoogle that i read everyday either before i get started with work or during my morning break. here are my favorites that i've saved so far...

Some things have to be believed to be seen.
- Ralph Hodgson

Defining and analyzing humor is a pastime of humorless people.
- Robert Benchley

People often say that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder,' and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder. This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves.
- Salma Hayek

Efficiency is intelligent laziness.
- Anon

The camera's only job is to get out of the way of making photographs.
- Ken Rockwell

The time to stop talking is when the other person nods his head affirmatively but says nothing.
- Henry S. Haskins

Where is human nature so weak as in the bookstore?
- Henry Ward Beecher

Acting is the most minor of gifts and not a very high-class way to earn a living. After all, Shirley Temple could do it at the age of four.
- Katharine Hepburn

Anybody can observe the Sabbath, but making it holy surely takes the rest of the week.
- Alice Walker

A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the word you first thought of.
